Abstract Submission

• Abstract submissions will open on January 4, 2027. The deadline for submission is February 1, 2027.

• Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the online abstract submission system available at uneko34.com. This is the only valid method of abstract submission for the congress. Abstracts submitted by fax or email outside the online system will not be considered.

• All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Following the evaluation process, abstracts will be assigned to one of the following presentation formats: oral presentation, moderated poster presentation, or e-poster. Authors will be notified of the evaluation results by email.

• At the time of submission, authors are required to select one of the following presentation categories: Oral Presentation, Nursing Oral Presentation, or Case Report.

• Abstracts will be published exactly as submitted. Authors are therefore responsible for carefully reviewing their submissions for spelling, typographical, and grammatical errors. The authors shall be solely responsible for any errors in the submitted text.

 

Abstract Preparation Guidlines

1.    Abstracts must be submitted through the online abstract submission system.

2.     Authors may indicate their preference for an oral or poster presentation. However, the final decision regarding the presentation format will be made by the Abstract Evaluation Jury. All case reports will be presented as posters.

3.    Academic titles must not be included with authors’ names.

4.    Authors’ names should be written in lowercase, with only the first letter capitalized.

5.    The name of each author’s affiliated institution and the corresponding city must be provided.

6.    The abstract title must be written in CAPITAL LETTERS.

7.    When abbreviations are used, the full term must be written out at its first occurrence, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.

8.    Original research abstracts must be structured under the following headings: Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. Case reports must be structured under the headings Introduction, Case, and Conclusion.

9.    The objective of the study and the methods used should be stated briefly. Results should be presented with sufficient numerical detail, and a clear conclusion should be provided based on the findings.

1. The name of the institution or center where the study was conducted, or any information that could directly or indirectly identify the institution or center, must not be included in the abstract

11. For all studies other than case reports/series, the study design must be explicitly stated under the Methods section.

12. Each abstract must include a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 keywords.

Abstracts that fail to comply with any of the above requirements will be excluded from the evaluation process, regardless of their scientific content.

 

Abstract Evaluation​

• Abstracts will be evaluated electronically by the Abstract Evaluation Jury through a blinded review process. Authors’ names, surnames, and institutional affiliations will be kept confidential during the evaluation.

• Multicenter studies conducted through the Trials Network system and supported by the Turkish Neonatology Association will be evaluated by the jury for presentation at the congress; however, these studies will not be eligible for awards.

• In order for an abstract to be considered for evaluation, at least one of the authors must have completed congress registration.

• All accepted case reports will be presented as e-posters and will be available for viewing by participants throughout the congress. One case report will be selected to receive the Best-Case Report Award. If the jury determines that two submissions are equally deserving of first place, the first-place award may be jointly awarded to both submissions. In such cases, the prize amount will be divided equally between the two recipients.

• Accepted oral abstracts will undergo a pre-congress evaluation by the jury and will be ranked according to their scores. The 30 highest-scoring abstracts will be scheduled for oral presentation, while the next 30 highest-scoring abstracts will be scheduled as moderated poster presentations.

• Following the presentations at the congress, the jury will conduct a final evaluation. Based on the final scores, the top three oral presentations and the top three moderated poster presentations will be selected for awards. 

• If the jury determines that two submissions are equally deserving of the same ranking, the relevant award may be jointly awarded to both studies. In such cases, the corresponding prize amount will be divided equally between the two recipients.

 

Nursing Abstracts

• Nurses must submit their abstracts under the Nursing Abstracts category. The same abstract preparation guidelines applicable to physician submissions also apply to nursing abstracts.

• The highest-scoring nursing abstract will receive the Best Nursing Abstract Award. If the jury determines that two submissions are equally deserving of first place, the award may be jointly presented to both studies. In such cases, the prize amount will be divided equally between the two recipients.

** In order for abstracts to be accepted and published in the conference proceedings, the author delivering the oral presentation must, in the case of an oral presentation, or at least one of the poster authors must, in the case of a poster presentation, complete their conference registration by **1 February 2027**.
